Summer Studio Happenings

I blinked and summer is over. I know a lot of you are very ready to be done with summer, especially as this one has been particularly hot in so much of the country. But, summer in the mountains is simply magic and you will never convince me otherwise. That said, I am starting to look forward to the changing colors and excuses to eat more pastries and hot soup. In the meantime, here's a little of what I got up to this summer.

I spent a lot of the summer months painting murals. My first of the year was in Littleton at

Littleton Massage and Sports Recovery. I had fun designing this little mural that highlighted some of our favorite things to do in Colorado. I also finished another small free standing mural for the town of Silverthorne during their First Friday events this summer. It lives over in front of the Art Spot now. (The Art Spot will soon be Silverthorne's community art studio.)

Then, I spent most of the month of July painting my largest mural to date at the new Bluebird Market in Silverthorne. By the end of this installation, I was much more comfortable than I ever thought I would be on a 20 foot extension ladder.

It’s still a little bit terrifying, but now I know what to expect for the next tall painting project. You can check out this mural over at the Bluebird Market, tag me if you share to Instagram!

I made my first podcast appearance this summer as well! I was interviewed on the Feel Good Social Podcast and Kinsey and I chatted about marketing yourself as an artist. It was a great conversation and I hope it helps other artists out there to feel okay showing up as themselves on social media. Can’t wait to hear what you all think of our conversation.

New boat!

There were also a few fun summer travels back home to Michigan to play on the lake and trips around the mountains in the summer. There were also many great outdoor concerts this summer. Seeing Brookes and Dunn at Cheyenne Frontier Days might take the cake. We also bought a sailboat this summer, so stay tuned for more adventures on the boat as we learn how to sail!

What’s coming up?

This fall you can find me prepping for all of my holiday orders for my wholesale accounts and planning what to make for my own sales around the holiday season. If there are any specific items you want to see for sale, be sure to let me know in the comment section. Lastly, I will be teaching a series of watercolor workshops in Silverthorne. These will take place at The Pad and will include a cocktail and charcuterie. You can read a bit more about what to expect in the workshop here.

Thanks so much for being here!
